Inequality in Mortality in Spain*

چکیده

We analyse the evolution of mortality rates in Spain by age and gender between 1990 2018. compare municipalities, ranked socio-economic status (SES) grouped into bins similar population size, to study changes not only levels but also inequality across SES spectrum. document large decreases throughout period for all groups, including children, even after 2000, continuing Great Recession. These declines are stronger boys men, who had higher begin with. find that municipalities was low among young 2018, while it adult men older women. Inequality fact increased over men. explore role different causes death this increase is driven improvements cancer-related living richer areas. found women, given their increases due lung cancer.
